before i forget again: uta barth



i first saw uta barth's work at the Met Museum's inaugural photography exhibition in the new gallery space the museum has dedicated to the medium from c.1960 - present. i remembered the beautiful work included as part of the rather strange group show - a distorted, fuzzy background with a sharp bright red fence post to the far right of the frame - for a long time afterward. i promptly forgot barth's name (the reason for this blog is my failing memory) then remembered while reading jim johnson's excellent blog on politics, theory and photography today where he namechecks barth as a recent Broad Fellow alongside Allan Sekula. so, before i forget again, i decided to archive some of her images here:
